Benefits of Infusional Therapy for Overall Wellness
Medical research has shown that intravenous supplementation of the basic nutritional components, can provide support for any physiological program – whether it is for weight reduction, physical fitness, or various acute or chronic medical conditions. All of the intravenous supplementations can be given in varying combinations, based on each individual’s clinical situation or nutritional goal.
Achieving overall good health is a lengthy process that encompasses all aspects of our lives. What we eat, our level of physical activity, and our capacity to use our minds to make daily decisions are all important components that we incorporate into our lives on a daily basis.
Four Major Components for Overall Wellness
Incorporating the following four major components into our daily routine may help us to attain the goal of good health. They are:
Nutrition
Eating is essential to maximizing energy utilization and fitness. Eating properly, with an awareness of the body’s nutritional needs, provides us with maximum physiological wellness. A well-balanced diet that provides enough calories and nutritional elements will help to maximize our daily energy cycle. We need to carefully look at our dietary habits in relation to our weight and physical productivity. I provide a basic nutritional counseling program for those patients who wish to have a better understanding of essential nutrition. This is important for anyone regardless of their level of health or existing medical conditions.
Exercise/Physical Activity
Exercise programs, whether they are aerobic or weight training in nature, require careful management of calories and food groups. As important exercise is for our body, sleep and periods of rest are also essential for us in recovering and restoring our body’s energy cycle.
Mental Health
Our intelligence and our ability to make decisions is an integral part of a well-balanced use of our energy. Our emotional well-being is a cornerstone in maintaining an integrated lifestyle.
Intravenous Supplements
Medical science clearly supports the proper use of supplementation. This includes minerals, vitamins, essential amino acids, essential fatty acids, and antioxidants. The supplements can be provided in a combination of oral and specific intravenous supplementation. They are not a substitute for basic dietary nutrition and proper medical treatments for any existing conditions. Supplements support the basic building blocks of our overall good health.
Intravenous Supplementation And Replacement Program
The intravenous supplementation and replacement program includes the following:
Intravenous Vitamins
Intravenous vitamins are given as part of a fluid replacement program. They are designed for basic nutrition when patients are not able to absorb adequate amounts of minerals, vitamins, and fluids orally.Intravenous Amino Acids
Amino acids are essential for patients on specific dietary programs. For individuals who are involved with weight training, the increased physical activity and recovery from exercise as well as very strict dietary programs is where the intravenous infusion of amino acid solutions can help. Amino acids provide the essential building blocks of protein and with intravenous supplementation, can help bypass digestion and absorption from the GI tract. This is meant as a supplement to lean protein replacement. It can also be used in conjunction with oral replacement.
Intravenous Antioxidants
Antioxidants are used in the reduction of free radicals and physiologically high-stress situations which can include:
- Exercise recovery
- Dietary programs
- Chronic illnesses, such as:
- Cancer
- Cardiac disease
- Diabetes
- COVID-19
- Chronic inflammatory bowel disease
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Systemic lupus
- Autoimmune disorders
- Chronic renal failure
The intravenous infusion of ascorbic acid and glutathione, in conjunction with hydration, has been proven to be highly beneficial in reducing free radicals at the cellular level. It has been demonstrated physiologically that ascorbic acid, also known as Vitamin C, is only absorbed in a maximum amount of 200mg per day. When administered Intravenously, in measured amounts, Vitamin C can clearly increase the plasma and cellular levels of the amount being absorbed. Glutathione cannot be absorbed orally, it is one of the most powerful antitoxins at the cellular level.
There is also the availability, when necessary, of receiving mineral replacement intravenously to help supplement oral replacement. This includes iron replacement therapy as well as magnesium and calcium if necessary.
Get On Your Way to a Healthier You
All of the above-mentioned components can be used by the individual patient according to their specific needs and based on their physiological or medical state. Intravenous supplements are always given with various combinations of intravenous fluids to provide maximum hydration and osmotic balance.
